Distant

I only looked from afar,
the way I look at stars —
tiny fishing vessels
whose masters hoist
pale kerosene lights
to find their way
across a sea of pitch,
transitting quietly
without knowing each other’s names
nor hearing their sighs,
they glide, dissolving
into the emptiness of daylight.

i like your freeverse mostly because of the imagery. but sometimes the broken
    lines
    become daunt
    ing.
is it possible that you write
    something that rhymes?

    the possibility of a rhyme
    would depend if a mime
    could mimic
    the sound of a dime.
    would such thing, then,
    be called sublime?
